That's a Wrap for this rerun sports wrap




Fox 13's Washington Sports Wrap replays at 11 a.m. the following day will be dead after Labor Day when The Jennifer Hudson Show moves from 1 pm to 11 am.   Both the Sherri sydicated program and Studio 13 Live are gone.  Also, the station is running a show called 'Battleground' (Midterms) at 11 pm against news on the other three locals.  The sports show was nothing more than a morning placeholder as we already reported.  The original still runs at 6:30 weeknights.   I am also seeing another edition of West Coast News Wrap from KTVU in Oakland running back to back at 7:30, but I don't recall what 
previously ran in that time slot.  I watch Jeopardy anyway!   
 
Update: A loyal reader says Sports Wrap was airing on a 730 replay weeknights, so looks like it's gone too.

    A rerun of Washington Sports Wrap has been airing at 7:30.

    I can't confirm this, but I've heard discussion that the West Coast News Wrap program is expanding to an hour. The new second half-hour is said to be optional, and not all stations that air the program will air it. But it looks like Fox 13 will air it.

    Love the fact 13 has more sports. But as a sports fan, who would ever watch in the 6 or 6:30 time slot. Mariners game starting or ending if on East Coast, prime time monday or thursday football games or even college football games. Kraken in the Winter months and their games are now starting at 6:45. Time slot makes it irrelevant for the sports fan.

      What would be a better timeslot for the program? 6:30pm may be a good time for local news, but it doesn't seem like the best time for a dedicated sports program, especially now that the Kraken games are moving earlier into the evening.

Thanks.  Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas.  Her last Facebook posts are 12/17.  She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO.  Looks like her decision.  Wants a new chapter.   She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO.  Perhaps Stella Sun will move there.   She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

UPDATED: Seattle TV Weather Wizard's Finale

Her goodbye post below! After an almost five-year stint, FOX 13 meteorologist and part-time news anchor Abby Acone ends her run there with a final show on this Sunday morning.  Married earlier this month, she left no word on what's next.  Not sure if it is fully her decision, but I'm told she had 'favored nation' status with news management.  Before joining 13 in December of 2021, she worked three years at KOMO and also did a stint in Tri-Cities. Where is Frankie?

Many have missed KIRO 7's weekend PM weather anchor, Frankie Katafias, so I reached out to some of my sources to find an answer.    She is apparently taking a few months of leave, but not known specifically what the reason may be.  Although there is uncertainty, it could be a personal or family matter.   I am told she is expected back at some point in the new year.  She is a great asset to what has become a troubled station.  Meanwhile former KOIN Portland chief met holds down the fort.
