WARM radio, KWRM-FM, went Christmas-y early and won the massive musical book for the holiday period with double digits. It knocked KUOW down to #2 with a slight drop in their numbers. Both KIROs finished in the top 10 with almost identical shares.

With all of the violent news we are experiencing in January, we should see the news stations shine when the ratings come out.

Warm 106.9 clearly knew what Seattle radio listeners were looking for in December: Christmas music, and lots of it!
ReplyDeleteKUOW still did quite well among those who were looking for news. No doubt January will also be a good month for them.
Bear in mind, KRWM started Christmas music far earlier than other stations. It really wasn't anything new. Their library of Christmas music is still the same as it was 20 years ago.
ReplyDeleteI clearly pointed out their early flip to holiday music on my Jan 2 ratings roundup post here and again today.
ReplyDeleteWarm has a tried, tested and true approach to the holiday music and it has worked for them for years. Now if they could just figure out the rest of the year.......
