"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

Good luck to him. However, I find it remarkable that a young person goes into TV news when the audience is shrinking (and includes almost no new viewers in their 20s-30s). It just doesn’t seem like there is much chance of a career.
ReplyDeleteIt could simply be completing a dream, but he will move up and with Shannon as a mentor, he will have a true path of reference. Shannnon has a one credit course annually for this at UW, FYI.
ReplyDeleteAny relationship to Rebecca S.?
ReplyDeleteDont know....
ReplyDeleteCongrats to Jake on landing his first job in local TV news!
ReplyDeleteUpdate, no relations to Rebecca. Just found out.
ReplyDeleteSo does that mean being an "anchor assist" (yes, that is a "title") to one of the Big Three anchors (Jennings, Brokaw or Rather) meant you were the next big network anchor? I worked with KOMO's lead evening anchors for about a year (and were on a first-name basis), but it didn't land me anywhere on my feet, now did it?
