Not sure how the Kraken games fared in ratings this season but KING 5 is pushing the product for next year at what's called an UPFront where the station or network sells for the future.
"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.
They must have done well enough for KING to believe that they were worth touting to prospective advertisers. What "well enough" means in this case is anyone's guess, so long as the ratings for the games remain out of the public eye.
ReplyDeleteIt was likely a contractual part of the partnership to push it hard after its rookie year, or KING and the team felt the need to push it harder after a so-so debut on broadcast. We will never know. Indeed, ratings are not made public like they used to be.
ReplyDeleteGood point. KING must fulfill its contractual obligations to the Kraken regardless of whether the ratings justify it.
