Her goodbye post below! After an almost five-year stint, FOX 13 meteorologist and part-time news anchor Abby Acone ends her run there with a final show on this Sunday morning. Married earlier this month, she left no word on what's next. Not sure if it is fully her decision, but I'm told she had 'favored nation' status with news management. Before joining 13 in December of 2021, she worked three years at KOMO and also did a stint in Tri-Cities. Fittingly, this last shot on IG is studio appropriate. I've been frequently critical of her on this site for using the station's studio to post questionable videos (IMO), but for now, good luck. After spending 6 weeks in Mesa, I can tell you that the talent level here is far below! It's like college interns compared to pro's! Not sure why the huge gap? Weekends are MIA for the most part. Don't get me wrong, there are a couple hands full of good air talents here in Seattle, but much of the new talent is lacking big time!
ReplyDeleteAnchoring is not his forte....stiff and unsure, but first time and had his input set low by the producer.
ReplyDeletePerhaps anchoring isn't the best role for AJ to play in the Fox 13 newsroom, but if it was his first time, some uneasiness should be expected. If given the chance to improve, he might surprise us.
