KREM2 in Spokane says goodbye to Regan Gallo-Fenz, who is leaving to tend more to her marriage and family per her social media post. She says she elected not to renew her expiring contract after a two-year stint. Regan is an Arizona State U. Cronkite School Masters grad. She won Miss Pierce County and Miss Washington in 2022.
Her goodbye post below! After an almost five-year stint, FOX 13 meteorologist and part-time news anchor Abby Acone ends her run there with a final show on this Sunday morning. Married earlier this month, she left no word on what's next. Not sure if it is fully her decision, but I'm told she had 'favored nation' status with news management. Before joining 13 in December of 2021, she worked three years at KOMO and also did a stint in Tri-Cities. Fittingly, this last shot on IG is studio appropriate. I've been frequently critical of her on this site for using the station's studio to post questionable videos (IMO), but for now, good luck. Here's Abby's goodbye post: My heart is so full as I reflect on my final week at FOX 13 ❤️ 🥹 I’m incredibly grateful for my time here and for the remarkable people who made this place feel like home. I’ve had the joy of working alongside some of the most talented, hardworking, and genuinely wonderful people in th...

Best of luck to Regan on her future endeavors. It is understandable, though regrettable, to see people leaving the industry after much shorter stints than they used to.
ReplyDeleteLet’s see if TEGNA will replace her. The roster is very light at KREM. Emphases on “very” and “light.” This is probably why they allowed her to backup anchor and forecast. Not my preferred style of reporting but good luck to her in the future.
ReplyDeleteKREM ND left the newsroom to work in sales. The place is near the ICU.
DeleteThe KREM "Meet the Team" only has 14 people listed, not counting their longtime chief meterologist Tom Sherry who retired a few years ago. Once Regan leaves, they'll be down to 13. Thats pretty bad for a station in a rapidly growing market (mid 60s on the Nielsen rankings). They need an infusion of good talent!
