Rose was working the phones?




David Rose, Fox 13 lead male anchor and longtime crime reporter and Spotlight hos there, tells me he was home working the phones during the shooting incident Sunday evening at Seattle Center.   Said he was helping to get suspect info.  All well and good, however Fox reported nothing on TV that I saw till 10.  Hmm.  I appreciate him responding to my inquiry, but IMHO, he should have been on site going live by 7 pm as the face of the station's news franchise.  Period.  ND dropped the ball, too.   Can't depend only on web and streaming on a big story like this.  Has to be on good old TV.   

Can't imagine being in that newsroom watching the competition crush them.    How about switching to the vaunted LIVE DESK?  Nah, that's hype to counter their news reruns.

    Its good to hear that Rose was helping to cover the story for Fox 13. But I agree that his presence was needed on TV.

    Seattle itself embarrassed themselves on Sunday and I think it was Mark Felt stating awhile back that something was going to happen that was going to truly test the new leadership of this city and they were right on the money. I am saddened by this senseless tragedy, but even more frustrated that something like this could have been avoided altogether.

    Day one Fox was bad. But I do think since then, Hannah Kim and Dan Griffin have been at the forefront of the follow up on the issues with getting information out to the public and holding the Mayor and chief accountable.

Thanks.  Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas.  Her last Facebook posts are 12/17.  She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO.  Looks like her decision.  Wants a new chapter.   She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO.  Perhaps Stella Sun will move there.   She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

UPDATED: Seattle TV Weather Wizard's Finale

Her goodbye post below! After an almost five-year stint, FOX 13 meteorologist and part-time news anchor Abby Acone ends her run there with a final show on this Sunday morning.  Married earlier this month, she left no word on what's next.  Not sure if it is fully her decision, but I'm told she had 'favored nation' status with news management.  Before joining 13 in December of 2021, she worked three years at KOMO and also did a stint in Tri-Cities. Where is Frankie?

Many have missed KIRO 7's weekend PM weather anchor, Frankie Katafias, so I reached out to some of my sources to find an answer.    She is apparently taking a few months of leave, but not known specifically what the reason may be.  Although there is uncertainty, it could be a personal or family matter.   I am told she is expected back at some point in the new year.  She is a great asset to what has become a troubled station.  Meanwhile former KOIN Portland chief met holds down the fort.
