"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

One reporter would have sufficed. Sending three reporters was too much.
ReplyDeleteI was told Fox had four. There were multiple stories to do, presser, new chief, reaction at city hall, so not unexpected, just a funny shot to post. 13:cameras present overall.
ReplyDeleteJoel Moreno also there for KOMO and he did a sidebar.
ReplyDeleteSo KOMO and Fox 13 each had four reporters there? Thats a lot for one presser!
DeleteSince there were multiple stories to do as you pointed out, having multiple reporters working on them makes complete and total sense. But did they all need to attend the presser in order to cover those stories?
I think each reporter wanted to see and hear the comments for themselves to ensure they had all the info they needed to pursue follow ups. No need to get lost in transmission, get it straight from the players. Daniels did a one in one with Wilson afterward, Harris had the cops/council, I think Moreno community reaction,
DeleteMcCarron as morning anchor prep.
.
That makes sense.
DeleteKOMO has absolutely dominated this week. KIRO a distant second. They were late to the game but did well getting interviews with victims.
ReplyDeleteKOMO has absolutely top notch reporters. Not a weak one in the bunch. Even the youngest (Stella, Tyler, Claire) are excellent.
DeleteWhen a new News Director is putting an individual stamp on things, they use the breaking news coverage to send a strong message. That's why they are pushing hard on the story iny opinion. KIRO's previous news boss had a very bad rep so her successor gets a very long honeymoon period.
