I posted the other day about a KOMO promo for a Storm Watch segment at 6pm Wednesday as if it were something special. Well, It wasn't special, it was only a paltry 1:00 highlight segment?? What a joke. Embarrassing. I guess I fell for it, but I was expecting a long segment, something in-depth or even a full block about the team based on the promo, but was fooled into waiting until the show was almost over at 55:00 after the hour for nothing. Shameful bait and switch. I won't be fooled again. Tell me that promo slide is not misleading. When a viewer sees a promo for the first time, there are expectations. Not a throwaway.
"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

The highlight segments I saw last year were closer to 90 seconds and even two minutes in length, so this is a downgrade that KOMO is trying to market as something bigger than it ever was or likely ever will be.
ReplyDeleteThere must be payoffs on showcasing segments. Can't disappoint. Especially for new viewers or fans who want more. Apparently there was an Interview package last week about the hot trade acquisition. That, at least, makes more sense and gives fans something worthwhile besides highlights.
ReplyDeleteSo perhaps this segment will offer something other than highlights from time-to-time. It'll be interesting to see how often that occurs.
