Brandi Kruse, who left Fox 13 in a huff citing corporate media oversight despite her own failed news show 'Divided,' gets allegedly caught in a scheme to be a hidden political donor from her podcast site, 'Undivided.' Not a fan.
From The Seattle Times
"A campaign finance watchdog has filed a complaint against Let’s Go Washington, alleging the conservative political committee failed to properly disclose political advertising tied to two statewide initiative campaigns.
The 24-page complaint, filed by Washingtonians for Ethical Government, alleges that Let’s Go Washington failed to report the financial value of more than 150 individual instances of promotional political advertising that the group identified by conservative podcaster and former TV journalist Brandi Kruse, as well as other in-kind, noncash contributions the organization allegedly received.
Failing to disclose advertising and contributions breaks state law on reporting campaign expenditures, said Washingtonians for Ethical Government, a nonprofit that promotes open government and investigates potential violations of state campaign finance law."
Here is a key portion on Ms. Kruse's response on X:
"There are also several legal issues with the complaint, not the least of which is a pesky little thing called the First Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.
"But don’t be fooled – the goal of the complaint isn’t for it to stick. The goal is to harm my reputation in the court of public opinion.
"I have never received anything of monetary value to support or oppose any political candidate, initiative, or issue. Quite the contrary. I have given untold hours, made personal donations, and driven tens of thousands of miles around the state to lend my voice to issues and people I believe in."
I have gotten some comments about a beef I had with Kruse six years ago. Here's the story:
*When she started The Divide on Fox 13, I heavily criticized the first show about Fake News. Her guests were Jason Rantz, who spreads such news himself, along with two Fox 13 colleagues. No expert, no point/counterpoint and there was one available, Kate Starbird of UW, who could have been added, but no. She chose her peeps, instead, to support her pov. It was a handout show. She railed strongly against the critique, beating me up about NWCN which she knew nothing about. Able to dish it out but not take it, and I called her Miss Fragile to chide her. calling out her supposed iron persona, which I did on My personal email. Freedom of Speech.
She proceeded to doxx me with an employer, which was totally ridiculous given the context, warning women about my post. It failed, of course. So yes, I don't like her, but more so, she has posited herself as this steely opponent of the state, but appears to have pushed her luck. And now, the complaint finds her.

Very few people understand the arcane nuances of political disclosure rules, and I doubt this will amount to much in the end - nor will it hurt her. In fact, it will be a boost for her as she recites chapter, line and verse from the well worn victimhood playbook.
ReplyDeleteWayne you’re an awful person. Get a grip.
ReplyDeleteIdentify yourself if you are going to personally attack me. You don't have the guts.
DeleteShe's a grifter. She's failed to make it nationally and it haunts her. That's the truth.
ReplyDeletenice link
ReplyDeleteYes, thanks for bringing it to my attention. Should have separated the headline from the link. A man's got to know his computer limitations.
DeleteComeuppance, but I get your point. Never impressed with Kruse.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the correction. I also fixed the link.
DeleteEnded up dumping the link and pasted three key graphs from the Times story.
Deletethis post is a continuation of a grudge Wayne has had for years with Brandy.
ReplyDeleteThe ironic thing about the "Undivided" is that it was, in my opinion, divisive. It was everything that it said that it wasn't.
ReplyDeleteI have had some comments about a beef with Brandi Kruse. Here's the truth:
ReplyDeleteWhen she started The Divide on Fox 13, I heavily criticized the first show on Fake News. Her guests were Jason Rantz of poorly rated KTTH, who spreads such news himself and two familiar, incestuous Fox 13 colleagues. An expert was available, researcher Kate Starbird of UW, who might have joined if invited. . She railed strongly against the critique, able to, as usual, dish it out, but not take it, and I called her Miss Fragile to chide her, calling out her supposed iron persona, which I did on my personal email. My opinion. She proceeded to doxx me with an employer, which was totally ridiculous given the context, even warning women about my post. So yes, I don't like her, but more so, she has built herself as this steely opponent of the state, but appears to have pushed her luck. And now, the complaint. Anyway, that's the story.
If the campaign finance allegations against Lets Go Washington and Kruse are true, I hope they are held accountable for them. No one is above the law, eapecially those who wish to change the law, as Lets Go Washington does.
DeleteI didn't watch The Divide very much when it ran on Fox 13. The advertised concept about finding common ground and bringing both sides together was good, but it became evident early on that the show wasn't going to live up to those expectations. I never saw the pilot episode, but from reading Wayne's account of it here, it seems like the show was destined from day one to fail to meet its promised mission. Kruse should have been willing to listen to feedback. The show might have succeeded if she had.
