Seattle TV sports anchor does research

Chris Egan leaves home in Puyallup to tell us how long it takes to get to a solo In-N-Out burger location in Ridgefield, WA.   Another public service from the Media Maven.

  1. Apparently Chris Egan nonsense videos= good, but any women (Abby) = bad… I guess that article about you may have been correct after all

    1. He did not do it repeatedly from his station's studio like Acone.

Not offensive either like her stuff can be to some. Not close at all.

Nice try.but that comment fell way short. Send me the article. Would love to see it.

    2. The viewers like a look at anchor life outside of just tv. Chris’s video is informative and fun. Claire Anderson shows her family a bit (though I’d caution against too much of that because you can put your children in danger). Steve McCarron posts about NW hikes and outings with his husband, and now that he’s divorced, his boyfriend. All of these are acceptable views into the lives of local personalities. It’s a matter of staying mature and appropriate, and there’s a fine line between the two.

  2. I can't tell for sure, but there is a chance he's being facetious...

  3. In fairness to Egan, he shared something that people might actually want to know. In-N-Out Burger has a very large fanbase, and Ridgefield is the only location in Washington State at this time. Its grand opening last summer was covered extensivley by Seattle TV news organizations, despite Ridgefield being in the Portland television market. And it is widely expected that In-N-Out will seek to open locations closer to Seattle in the future.

Rebecca Stevenson has left KOMO

"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks.  Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas.  Her last Facebook posts are 12/17.  She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO.  Looks like her decision.  Wants a new chapter.   She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO.  Perhaps Stella Sun will move there.   She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

Where is Frankie?

Many have missed KIRO 7's weekend PM weather anchor, Frankie Katafias, so I reached out to some of my sources to find an answer.    She is apparently taking a few months of leave, but not known specifically what the reason may be.  Although there is uncertainty, it could be a personal or family matter.   I am told she is expected back at some point in the new year.  She is a great asset to what has become a troubled station.  Meanwhile former KOIN Portland chief met holds down the fort.

Frankie Flees KIRO7

UPDATE:  Frankie got married!!! Acting on tips from two of my loyal readers, I see that Weekend Weather Wizard Frankie Katafias is indeed missing from the KIRO 7 website.  Freelancer Scott Haveson filled in this past Sunday and we know that reporter Brandon Thompson has hit the weather wall in the past as a fill-in.   No word on if Frankie fled on her own or was told to.   She came to Seattle in 2022, so maybe it was a three-year deal that ended?
