Her goodbye post below! After an almost five-year stint, FOX 13 meteorologist and part-time news anchor Abby Acone ends her run there with a final show on this Sunday morning. Married earlier this month, she left no word on what's next. Not sure if it is fully her decision, but I'm told she had 'favored nation' status with news management. Before joining 13 in December of 2021, she worked three years at KOMO and also did a stint in Tri-Cities. Fittingly, this last shot on IG is studio appropriate. I’ve had the joy of working alongside some of the most talented, hardworking, and genuinely wonderful people in th...
I'm sorry to hear that Drew and Maddie are leaving KING. Drew has proven to be a veristile reporter on the morning news, and Maddie has always been a solid reporter on the late news. I wish them all the best in San Francisco. Our loss is their gain.
ReplyDeleteAs for KING, they've got some serious vacancies to fill, and very little time to do it. I hope they can get some help from their sister stations if they don't have the vacancies filled by June. As important as the May sweeps are, the World Cup is going to require extensive extra coverage for more than a month, especially with the Iran factor. Even with these vacancies, KING is better positioned to handle such coverage compared to the other stations with its larger pool of reporters. But its still going to be tough.
Drew and Maddie hav both joined KPIX/CBS News Bay Area.
