"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

DeleteI was just noting that KIRO seems to have nothing positive going on after the news director got kicked out of the building this week. Seems to be snake but of their own doing. It was not a journo post.
DeleteThanks for the support. I don't mind some snark. I have had that for about five decades in broadcasting at every stop. Can't please everyone looking at through the fishbowl sometimes. Lol
ReplyDeleteWatched much of the game on Saturday and can tell you Wayne the issue you saw was one that affected them throughout the entire broadcast. Either A. they didn't sell the ad space or B. they had a technical issue that prevented them from airing the commercials during the breaks. Not sure which one but what you saw was not a one-time occurrence during the broadcast. Fortunately they only have one local broadcast left this season - Wednesday - as the other two games are ESPN broadcasts. In a perfect world, KHN would just sim VGK's Scripps broadcast and call it good because their production and broadcast values down there are very strong also.
ReplyDeleteMust have been a glitch between the servers.
DeletePerhaps
DeleteTegna employee here. Luckily Anonymous! Ads are sold. As they have been all season. Needed a reset of server after a meltdown and it takes hours. Bad timing. Bad luck.
ReplyDeleteHopefully the server is back up and running again now. Technical gremlins are no fun for anyone!
DeleteExcellent explanation of what happened and here is hoping all is well for the game tomorrow night. Those issues, IDC is right, are no fun for anyone. Tech sometimes sucks and this was definitely an example of that
