"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.
They love this kind of attention. It must be because they are not with an established news shop. Any other reasons?

I don't know much about Hoffman, but Kruse and Choe are attention-seekers, claiming to be truth-tellers with a clear bias. I permanently ignore them and Kruse's buddy, the grifter Rantz from KTTH.

ReplyDeleteThe state should not be able to limit who gets press credentials and who doesn't. It goes against the First Amendment, and the idea of a free and fair press. The only possible exception might be to restrict access for those who have been convicted of criminal offenses against lawmakers or any violent crime.
I hope Kruse, Hoffman, and Choe win their lawsuit. I rarely, if ever, agree with their political views. But differences in political opinion are not a valid reason to keep them out of the State Capitol.
Wayne, Kruse and Choe are holding the party in power accountable by asking hard questions, which the softball legacy media flat out doesn’t do. Legacy media takes the democrat talking points and regurgitates. Hardly a bias. They are doing what media should do. If the right was in charge for the last 40 years, Kruse would hold them accountable too for the things that are not working. You are showing a clear bias by automatically writing them off. But I guess you are former legacy media so to be expected.

She has been trying to go national to feed her business, which her legacy media compensation probably funded. Choe fired himself at KOMO by his actions. His choice. Rantz has been on Fox and now CNN but no one wants him as a fulltime conservative commenter. Protege of the ridiculed and dormant Tucker Carlson.
DeleteLast I heard, Rantz was making occasional appearences on NewsNation (Nexstar's 24/7 newschannel). It seems he has moved into the big leagues, which, love him or hate him, is good for his career.
DeleteAs for Kruse, I'm not surprised to hear that she is trying to go national, but it is an interesting development since her niche has been almost strictly Washington State politics. This may be a deep blue state, but I would have thought that there are enough people in this state, particularly in Southwest, Central, and Eastern Washington, who would be interested in hearing her point of view to maintain a sustainable business.
In October, both Kruse and Choe curried favor in front of Trump in DC, testifying against Antifa. Kruse said, "I'm living proof that you can recover from TDS. I had Trump Derangement Syndrome, for probably eight years."

DeleteTo be clear, the CCA isn't the State. The problem is where do you draw the line. If I have 30 followers on X and call myself a journalist, do I get to roam around the capital freely? I would hope not.
