On Thursday, federal agents shot two people on Portland. Back when NWCN was on the air, we would have simulcast our sister station KGW there for the entire PNW. Given the current controversy over the Minnesota killing, three ICE arrests in Seattle and this new incident, the channel would have been valued more than ever, regardless of other platforms for immediately informing viewers on their phones. One stop shopping. Sorry that Tegna and Xfinity thought otherwise as to its worthiness to every Washingtonian. Full disclosure, I was ND there for 11 years, but I would have the same opinion as a viewer.
"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

Gee, you forget to add that it was 2 Venezuelan gang members who tried to evade campture and steered their car to ICE. I don't understand just comply with law enforcement instructions and you probably will have no issues
ReplyDeleteI was only posting about distribution of a big story, not the specific details of it.
DeleteI thought KING was simulcasting the Portland station. At least that’s what I saw on the K5 app.

ReplyDeleteMy point was that NWCN provided big live regional stories to the entire NW on TV, not on an app. It was a place to turn to long before cord cutting became a thing. It would still be quite valuable to non-cord cutters, perhaps. Just a thought.
ReplyDeleteNWCN certainly would have offered a local alternative to the national news channels and the big 3 nightly newscasts. Its where I would have turned to for coverage of yesterday's incident.
