Cascade PBS in Seattle had windows during the PBS Newshour to ask for donations to offset federal funding cuts. Hadn't seen that before; usually it is inserted into music shows and other programs. Port in a storm? BTW, Paris Jackson, ex KOMO-TV traffic anchor, is still on the scene at Cascade's TV Newsfeed show.

When the cry for help comes too frequently, it’s going to loose its appeal. The situation is unfortunate, however I think stations need to make visible cuts , remember Joni Mitchell “ you don’t always realize what you’ve got till it’s gone “ !
ReplyDeleteIt shows how dire the funding situation for PBS really is if the Newshour is now having pledge windows inserted into it. The move is, as far as I know, unprecendented. But then so is PBS' funding situation.
ReplyDeleteGee, thank you, TRUMP 🤬
ReplyDeleteImagine the great programming KSTW could have if our tax money supported that station. And the others, KVOS, KTBW, KWPX, etc. Yes, an increase in taxes to support all tv stations. You should all probably march on DC to get Schumer to back that idea.
