Is this how a Seattle TV wants to showcase its morning team????

No credibility whatsover at Fox 13 Seattle.  Keep the fun off the platform linked to your employer, folks.  Grow up, people.   Foolish.  Watch it and weep.  Abby Acone can't help herself.

  1. Social media engagement used to mean driving traffic to the news related content, now it's just ridiculous song/lip syncing/music/dance vids to see how many views can be had. Sad, just sad.

    1. These are three knowledgable, bright people that immediately undercut their credibility with these silly videos.

    2. They certainly didn't help themselves or Fox 13 win over viewers looking for serious news coverage. I hope they will reconsider the next time they want to make content like this.

  2. KXLY in Spokane did something ridiculous on its newscast in the 80s. I think 1981, on April Fool's they hit the anchor lady (Terry Douglas) with a pie in the face.

    1. How disrespectful of Terry's colleagues to do that to her, and how unprofessional of KXLY as a whole for allowing that to happen. I would be far more forgiving if it was for charity, but to do it just as a joke on a newscast is most distasteful.

  3. What a waste of time. What viewer does this attract? Nobody goes on social media to find out what to watch on broadcast TV. And nobody under 40 uses FB for anything, period.

  4. Dan Griffin left KCPQ a couple of years ago but is now back at the station reporting again.

    1. Don't see him on the team page but will be on the lookout. His worst moment came going live for 13 during a Tsunami warning where he told viewers he was glad it was cancelled because he can't swim. Yikes.

    2. But appreciate the heads up. Maybe he just came back to help over the holidays. We shall see.

    6. I hadn't noticed that Griffin had returned. I thought he was a decent reporter during his first stint at Fox 13, though I am not pleased to learn that he made such a ill-thought comment during Tsunami coverage. That was highly unprofessional of him. I hope he will be more mindful in the future.

Rebecca Stevenson has left KOMO

"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks.  Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas.  Her last Facebook posts are 12/17.  She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO.  Looks like her decision.  Wants a new chapter.   She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO.  Perhaps Stella Sun will move there.   She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

UPDATED: Seattle TV Weather Wizard's Finale

Her goodbye post below! After an almost five-year stint, FOX 13 meteorologist and part-time news anchor Abby Acone ends her run there with a final show on this Sunday morning.  Married earlier this month, she left no word on what's next.  Not sure if it is fully her decision, but I'm told she had 'favored nation' status with news management.  Before joining 13 in December of 2021, she worked three years at KOMO and also did a stint in Tri-Cities. Fittingly, this last shot on IG is studio appropriate.    I've been frequently critical of her on this site for using the station's studio to post questionable videos (IMO), but for now, good luck.   Here's Abby's goodbye post: My heart is so full as I reflect on my final week at FOX 13 ❤️ 🥹 I’m incredibly grateful for my time here and for the remarkable people who made this place feel like home. I’ve had the joy of working alongside some of the most talented, hardworking, and genuinely wonderful people in th...

Where is Frankie?

Many have missed KIRO 7's weekend PM weather anchor, Frankie Katafias, so I reached out to some of my sources to find an answer.    She is apparently taking a few months of leave, but not known specifically what the reason may be.  Although there is uncertainty, it could be a personal or family matter.   I am told she is expected back at some point in the new year.  She is a great asset to what has become a troubled station.  Meanwhile former KOIN Portland chief met holds down the fort.
