With the Kimmel show now reinstated by ABC, will Sinclair allow its stations to carry it? Affiliate contracts generally restrict such blanket preemptions since the nets need clearance for programs to drive national ratings, so we'll wait for a statement from Sinclair and Nexstar, too. Set your DVRs.

I certainly hope so. I got a real kick watching The Daily Show with Jon Stewart of September 19.
ReplyDeleteIt took me longer than it should have to catch onto what he was doing, but it was a very interesting and chilling scenario about what could happen to late night television if, heaven forbid, our rights to free speech and free expression are ever fully taken away.
DeleteYou can watch his monologue on You Tube. That would air in spite of what Sinclair decides.
ReplyDeleteNot interested in his show or clips, but support his comedy and commentary as I would for anyone in this situation. A reader claimed he told a 'verifiable lie.' But the FCC has zero language about 'lies' in its rules, and, nothing has been verified yet. Charges yes, evidence still being gathered.
