ABC/Disney apparently has not yet not made a public decision on what programming will air in Jimmy Kimmel's late night space next week The show is still listed all five weeknights as of Friday, but, of course that could change in an instant. ABC does have a slew of Celebrity Family Feud reruns and Celeb Wheel of Fortune, too, so that would be an easy fix and non-controversial I wouldn't rule out running an ESPN Sportscenter or Scott Van Pelt live or even a PTI. ABC could also move Nightline to 11:35, then back fill with these other programs after midnight. How much money will they lose? I don't think they care about that right now even amid calls for boycotts and continued fallout. Also, Kimmel could just have his lawyers negotiate an exit and remove any non-competes, but why would another network or even station pick him up. More likely an HBO/MAX or cable type deal depending on ownership (as in no Paramount). Some of you may remember Bill Maher's controversial 'Politically Incorrect' late night show which was cancelled by ABC in 2001 after his polarizing 9-11 comments, but he's now solid on HBO. TV News cliche: "Time will Tell."
"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.
The show schedule for the channel guide seems to be released by stations a week or two in advance, so it'll take a while for the change appear.
ReplyDeleteYou may be right, although in the past, I have seen the guide changed within 24 hours or so when working around KING's program schedule with an added special and such.
