The shutdown and layoffs begin and local stations must pledge drive to survive:
The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, the conduit for federal funds to NPR and PBS, announced on Friday that it is beginning to wind down its operations given President Trump has signed a law clawing back $1.1 billion in funding for public broadcasting through fiscal year 2027. (from NPR)
KBTC will be running special pledge drive programming for two weeks starting tomorrow. This announcement makes their pledge drive all the more important. I wish them all the best in raising the funds they need to continue broadcasting.
ReplyDeleteThis announcement also makes the support of the public that much more important to the longevity of public broadcasting in this market as a whole, and across the entire country.
