"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

I'm not much of a sports fan, but I agree that the first day of the Seahawks Training Camp warranted better coverage than it recieved, especially given how domiant the Seahawks are in Seattle's fast growing sports scene. I hope coverage improves when the Seahawks start playing their pre-season games next month.
ReplyDeleteI remember watching videos of KIRO's "News Out of the Box" experiment in the early to mid-90s when both TV and radio operations were combined into one to become "NewsCenter 7". It didn't help when TV folks would come into the radio booth when it seemed that the radio folks seemed uncomfortable doing on-the-spot updates live on camera. Reminds me of what the late SanFran radio personality Jim Lange (remember "The Dating Game"?) used to say that: "Good radio is still the most fun. It always will be. Plus, you don't have to wear makeup, and you don't have to shave."
