All of the changes we laid out at Fox 13 will cause some major position changes and layoffs. We hear that one layoff casualty is Carly Henderson (left), co-host of Studio 13 with Mireya Garcia. Looks like Garcia will go solo but, at the same time, she'll no longer be co-anchoring the 4-430 a.m. newscast, which is going bye-bye. Expanded morning news will go 5-11 a.m. Thus, the lifestyle show moves from 10 to 11 weekday mornings. All effective Monday 6-16. There will be a quiz on this stuff so take notes.

I hate to see people lose their jobs. Carly comes across as a fun and happy person. As heartbreaking as it is, I see her landing on her feet.
ReplyDeleteI had a hunch that Studio 13 would drop down to a single host for its new, shorter format. I am sorry to see Carly go, and wish her the best of luck in finding a new job.
ReplyDeleteAgree. Hate to see layoffs and hope Carly can get a similar role in another market. I only watched occasionally but I always got the feeling that the Carly and Mireya friendship seemed kind of fake.
ReplyDeleteFrom the debut show I thought Carly was affected and forced. Mireya carries it and she just seemed to be the wrong fit. She might be good doing community interviews for ARC Seattle. The show needs more personality, IMHO.
ReplyDeleteMy favorite part was when Wixey did a sit down with the new hosts when the show launched — and didn’t know their names! Not sure anyone in Seattle even yet does.
ReplyDeleteThe show allows some pay for play and community asset interviews for the license, so it works for them just like NDNW at KING. The set has been awful since the jump. I think the sports show is done from the same set.
ReplyDeleteWhen it gets pushed to 11, I assume it will return to one hour, but I wonder if they will rotate in guest co-hosts, like Abby or Brian or even Adam.
