Saw a promo on Fox 13 calling Seattle News Tonight the "REGION'S PREMIER NEWSCAST." Who sez? Really? After less than two weeks under that name? Oh and it went on to say "LIVE EVERY NIGHT." I guess they are not counting the huge replay component all evening. Just pushing the first 15 minutes, I guess, to distract us, eh? Aren't all local TV newscasts Live Every Night??? And the toothy smiles of David Rose and Rayford are sooooo genuine. Nice work, Creative Services. Trying to convince us or yourselves??
"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.
Fun watching them in those very uncomfortable chairs having to lean forward to talk.
ReplyDeleteI would not call Seattle News Tonight our region's premier newscast. It's not the worst newscast I've ever seen, but its not great either. It does make me wonder what our region's premier newscast is, assuming we have one that could be given such a status.
ReplyDeleteAs for being live every night, as far as I know, the only local newscast in this market that isn't always live is Seattle News Tonight from about 5:15, 8:15, 9:15, and 10:15 onwards on weeknights.
While it is true that every local newscast has reports that are prepared ahead of time, they are normally introduced and outroed live by an anchor or a reporter. Seattle News Tonight isn't even doing that, except in the 4pm hour and the A-blocks of the other hours.
