"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

No problem at all. Let's face, compared to other medium, anchors are not paid very well! I'm for making as much as you can Eric!!
ReplyDeleteProbably making 250-300k minimum at KOMO for years
DeleteWithout ads there would be no TV news.
ReplyDeleteThe problem with the news media in general is the need for profit. I feel a big reason for today’s hyper partisan environment is the repeal fairness doctrine. News isn’t entertainment.

This issue is a former highly respected news anchor deciding to become a pitchman. I would not be surprised if Davis Law Group agreed to advertise more on KOMO if Johnson was the face. Will KING run spots with Eric as the face?? Lots of strange deals being brokered these days.
Delete250-300 not that much compared to tech jobs and the like. His 401k match with Sinclair stock didn't do well! Average price of a home in our region approaching 1 mil. I know Dan, Kathy, and Steve were getting more than that. Past 8 years that he anchored helped, but sports as you know over the past 20 years hasn't been all that lucrative! Law groups make huge settlement $$$$. He's earned it!!
ReplyDeleteThe point is, he had this huge rep reporting on Heroes and he throws it away for a commecial for an ambo chaser. Has nothing, not one thing, about earning it. He lost his way trying to be on camera and frankly, it didn't look good.
