Carly Henderson - co-host of Studio 13: Live - was laid off in the recent KCPQ expansion which we broke. She posts her goodbye on FB. She never really clicked on the pay for play lifestyle mid-morning show. It will be cut to a half hour for awhile and moved to 10 a.m, according to reports, before moving back to 11 on Aug. 4. And I am told it will remain 30 minutes, not be re-expanded to an hour. Thank goodness.

She was good. The topics, chemistry, and need to watch was lacking!
ReplyDeleteHave to agree to disagree. Not a natural fit.
ReplyDeleteA horrible show that you would only watch if you stumbled across it by mistake the dropped the remote control and the nurse wouldn’t come when you rang the call button.
ReplyDeleteYou might also stumble upon the show if it was playing on the TV at the auto repair shop and your phone battery was low. That happened to me a couple of times, and it makes up the bulk of my exposure to this particular show. I wouldn't say it was horrible, but it wasn't great either. I hope it will improve in its new format as there should be room on daytime Seattle TV for lighter local fare.
DeleteIt is far better and more cost-effective to have it as 1:30 piece at the tail end of the morning newscast rather than a full-blown half-hour or even hour-long program. You can have Wixey and Mayovsky read a couple items here and there, a :30 WX wrap up of the seven-day forecast and :30 traffic wind up, credits, there you go. Its Producing and TV Econ 101. I don't see the difference in timeslot or duration making it much of competitor to KING or KOMO or KIRO. The problem is that Henderson was out of place whereas you have folks like Wixey, Mayovsky, Gehrke and MacMillian who have Northwest roots. She could wind up doing some relief work for "Evening" or Hanson on "New Day", but we shall see. Unless you're the "Today" show, local morning shows (both radio and TV) have pretty much gone wayside if you ask me, namely hearing disclaimers of how portions of the program have been pre-recorded and what not.
ReplyDeleteIt's going to remain a half hour show in Aug, not back to an hour. No co-host. Mireya on her own. There may be changes with the timing of Sherri show, etc.
ReplyDeleteIt doesn't matter how long the show is or who is even hosting it. If anything, anyone these days has access to a camera on their phone and do their own.
ReplyDeleteI found Carly to be charismatic with an engaging presence.
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeleteCharismatic is strong praise, not sure she has that irresistible quality, but in Seattle TV, who really does? Agree to disagree, but thanks for reading and weighing it.
ReplyDeleteC'mon Wayne, I was being nice!! Basically said it wasn't happening. Same with back to Besa!
ReplyDeleteWas not reacting to your comment, someone else's. No worries.
ReplyDeleteI thought Carley was the best of the two on Studio Live. Very charming woman. All the best to her!
ReplyDeleteAgree
DeleteI agree. She wasn’t a good fit for this type of show. She just seemed awkward and forced. Her stylist needed to be fired also. Bring back Kacie Atchison!
ReplyDeleteKaci would be a good fit for the show if she was interested and Fox 13 were inclined.
DeleteI don't think she is still in the mix. Doubtful/
ReplyDeleteI don't she is either, but the idea is still good if both parties are interested. I always liked Kaci when she was on Fox 13. She fit in quite well with the lighter vibe of their morning show back then.

ReplyDeleteTHIS WHOLE SHOW SHOULD BE PUT OUT WITH THE TRASH OUT BACK WHERE CHANNEL 13 PUTS OUT ITS TRASH BEHIND THE STATION ALONG WITH THE 2 HOST
