Former NFL QB and now NYC sports radio host Boomer Esiason blasted ex-Mariners voice Dave Sims, who left to do Yankees Radio, for taking a few days off prior to the TMobile series with the Bombers that started Monday Sims wanted some time with family, and possibly even had it is his contract after seeing how the schedule played out. Anyway, here's a link:
"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.
Must be a slow news day in the big apple! 🍏. No class !

Dave Sims is a total gentleman. This should be a non-story.
ReplyDeleteTotally agree. New York sports radio trying to gin up controversy where there is none.
ReplyDeleteGood on Dave taking a few days off to spend time with his family. There are many people who don't get the oppertunity to do that very often, and others who don't get to at all. Shame on New York sports radio for trying to turn a good thing into a bad thing! I hope Dave enjoyed his family time, and hope he gets to have some more soon.
ReplyDeleteI have a natural bias here — my closest big city growing up was Philly, and we have zero use for NYC — but this feels like another chapter in New York hubris. New York City; and only New York City, can be the pinnacle of careers and living. Like it’s just so stupid. They’re worse than DC… lots of people live happy, healthy, successful lives without ever stepping foot in New York! Perhaps one day they’ll stop sniffing their own farts… perhaps. More likely that one of their sad-sack football teams wins a Super Bowl first.
