1. Well, I did finally see some sports on KIRO7 during its 11 pm Saturday, but still puzzled on what Eric Thomas is doing, He has a sportscasting background in Canada and was initially doing some sports on KIRO after the station axed its sports department. Then he anchored p.m.news on weekends for awhile, although now Jason Sloss has taken over that role, including reading the sports highlights on the late show. That happens a lot on KIRO during the week, as well.
2. I want to push that Stella Sun of KOMO (above) is the best up and coming talent in Seattle TV news. Strong on weather, versatile and great welcoming look.
3. KING5 New Day host Kelly Hanson (above) emceed the annual Tuxes and Tails big gala in Seattle this weekend, so she continues broadening her experience. Nice get. And K5's Chris Egan helped raise a bundle for Good Sam hospital as an emcee.
4. I still think Niko Tamurian should have solo anchored the Seattle Storm pre-game opening night show on Saturday. He could have pre taped multiple segments with game announcers Elise Woodward and Dick Fain (even earlier in the week) to avoid having a news anchor assigned to co-host. KOMO doesn't seem to have a lot of faith in him as the station's true sports credible leader.

1. Good to hear that KIRO actually covered some sports this weekend. I hope they keep it up.

3. It is also great to see KING personalities helping to raise money for important local causes and programs. KING'S willingness to do such work has always been one of their strengths, and we are all better off for it.
4. Will Kelly Koopmans co-host with Niko on all Seattle Storm pregame shows, or was it a one-off for the first show?
5. Happy to hear that Jade is doing well in the Tri-Cities. The station she is at, which brands as Apple Valley News Now, has been making some real strides in that market in the past couple of years, including revamping its anchor lineup and launching a full slate of weekend evening newscasts. It's been interesting to watch as the Tri-Cities TV market has long lagged behind both the larger Spokane market and similarly sized (market size is in the 110s) TV markets nationwide in terms of news output, despite the area's rapid growth.
There's a game at 5 Monday on the CW and no pre-game listed probably because KOMO is live at the same time. They may limit pre-games to weekends, if at all. Even if it was one-off with Kellly it was a weak look.
