The 'book' started Thursday, the 24th and goes thru the 21st of May. Will be interesting to see if KING goes to solo anchors on the evening newscasts and with the departure of #2 male Steve Soliz. Can confirm the 6:30 and 7 will be co-anchored. But it seems that Jessica Jenner Castro and Greg Copeland will have more solo air time with Copeland working alone at 10 & 11. Castro probably solo 4 and 9 and co-anchor 630 with Greg. Also want to see how Soliz and Preston Phillips split shows on KOMO. Personally, I think Molly Shen and Soliz together would be refreshing for KOMO. P.S. Will give EVENING a look as well as this is the first book without Jim Dever. Saint Bryan seems still solid as host.
This sweeps is a key sales barometer for TV's all the way into late Fall, even though overnights come in daily. TV sales are based both on traditional linear viewership and IMPRESSIONS of the product on various platforms.
It's shaping up to be one of the more interesting sweeps periods we've had in this market in recent years with all of the changes at KING and KOMO. It will be interesting to see what changes the viewers will like and which ones they won't.
