"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

That is a rather crowded screen. Do we really need to see the anchor's face while the story is being presented, since there already is an on screen graphic with key points already being featured? Focus on the story itself, and not who is reading it.
ReplyDeleteI pointed out in a previous post that the new news director at KOMO fancies himself a 'show doctor' and he initiated the video backdrop with the anchor box for some strange reason. It's distracting and anchor on-cam overkill. Adding a full screen to the mix is foolish. Does it grow viewers or engagement? No.
ReplyDeleteKOMO's new news director fancies himself a "show doctor"? If crowded screens like this one are one of his prescriptions to fix KOMO, I can only wonder what else he might have up his sleeve. As distracting as this is, it could be just the begining.
