Sinclair TV and the moment of death

"WBFF (Baltimore) tried to up their social media clicks by posting what amounted as a snuff film.

The Sinclair station post raw video of a kid killing another kid at a local High school.

The station put a "warning" on the video but did not blur it or edit the graphic content."

    There are few cities more violent and disgusting than Seattle, but Baltimore is one of them.

      1 Memphis, 2 St. Louis, 3 Little Rock, 4 Minneapolis, 5 Detroit There's the Top 5 most violent cities rated. Seattle not even listed in top 20. Article from 11/2024 via getsafeandsound.com

      Professor? JFC. It doesn’t take a PhD to show that your comment is asinine. Thanks to the other person with data; I’ll add an anecdote: I lived in Northern Virginia before moving here. The summer before I left, Metropolitan Police (i.e., DC police) closed down an entire neighborhood because of violence. Like checkpoints in and out.     I never quite understood how these managers go by hiring these producers or what goes on behind the news director's back. As someone who wanted to work in TV news, has anyone in a newsroom these days have half a brain or editorial judgment in them? Were the EP's and the AND out sick that day or something. Too many who work in this business just want fame and fortune. That's just my two cents.

Thanks.  Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas.  Her last Facebook posts are 12/17.  She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO.  Looks like her decision.  Wants a new chapter.   She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO.  Perhaps Stella Sun will move there.   She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

Where is Frankie?

Many have missed KIRO 7's weekend PM weather anchor, Frankie Katafias, so I reached out to some of my sources to find an answer.    She is apparently taking a few months of leave, but not known specifically what the reason may be.  Although there is uncertainty, it could be a personal or family matter.   I am told she is expected back at some point in the new year.  She is a great asset to what has become a troubled station.  Meanwhile former KOIN Portland chief met holds down the fort.

Frankie Flees KIRO7

 UPDATE:  Frankie got married!!! Acting on tips from two of my loyal readers, I see that Weekend Weather Wizard Frankie Katafias is indeed missing from the KIRO 7 website.  Freelancer Scott Haveson filled in this past Sunday and we know that reporter Brandon Thompson has hit the weather wall in the past as a fill-in.   No word on if Frankie fled on her own or was told to.   She came to Seattle in 2022, so maybe it was a three-year deal that ended?
