"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

Why is this news?
ReplyDeleteNot news. And certainly nothing here that has a single iota of connection to the news business in the PNW.
ReplyDeleteIt's a 'where are they now?' comment about a former favorite Seattle TV host and what she is doing in her new job. That's my iota! The point is why is she posting a selfie about it and why is the Allen Brain institute attending SXSW, anyway. Here is what the convention is about: 'South by Southwest is an annual conglomeration of parallel film, interactive media, and music festivals and conferences organized jointly that take place in mid-March in Austin, Texas.' I think Allen has better things to do, IMHO. She even says in her X profile that she is 'geeking out' at Allen. It's a boondoggle.
ReplyDeleteThat's funny. I like you characterizing me when, again, you don't reveal your identity here. I called her no names, even though you did me. I just said that Allen sending her is a boondoggle trip. Tell me how it helps Allen. Be specific, please. And tell me who you are.
ReplyDeleteHey Wayne why don’t I jump in here. First of all, with respect, I’m not sure why anyone is analyzing why Amity is posting about her new role. Part of her role is to attain new media relationships so that the press can highlight the wonderful accomplishments the Institute is achieving. This festival is filled with media people. And wouldn’t it be wonderful if we all loved our jobs enough that we geek out at the very subject we are promoting. I am lucky enough to also get to geek out when I talk to people that are in the industries and communities my organization serves.

ReplyDeleteNatasha, people want to know what recent TV people are doing, like Matt Lorch auctioneering, as one example. I didn''t criticize Amity, I questioned the trip. It's just an opinion. I wasn't 'analyzing' her, just commenting on the trip. She posted a selfie from there which tells me she wanted Seattle to know. BTW, If I worked for a prestigious institute, I would not post about 'geeking out' in my profile. Yes, I know I am from a different generation. Instead, go on profile and pin something and tell us about your mission, your goals to take what you learned in TV to a new field. This seemed more like bragging than being a brand ambassador, but that's just how I observe it. I guess we will agree to disagree. I appreciate the feedback. I hope you are doing well in your new field. I always enjoyed working with you.
DeleteI appreciate that Wayne, I am
Deletedoing great thank you! Same
to you. Just a ps here, knowing Amity as well as I do, just want to reassure she is not bragging just genuinely excited. She is actually one of the least “braggy” people I have ever met. Enjoy the weekend!
That we me again. Not sure why it posted an anonymous
