"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.

Apollo has likely wrung everything out of the old Cox stations it can and is now looking to exit. Makes sense given the cost cutting of recent times at KIRO would buff up the financials for a sale.
ReplyDeleteKIRO is going to need some serious rebuilding if and when the station is sold. Their news team has been hollowed out to the point where they didn't even have 20 personalities listed on their "meet the team" page not too long ago. This isn't to say that a small team is bad. But it hardly feels adequate to fully cover the news in Western Washington.
