A great deal of respect and admiration for longtime KING News Operations guru Greg Thies, who has announced his retirement after multi-decades of service. He is superbly talented with can-do, problem-solving skills I have rarely seen in this business. Had the pleasure of working with him while at NWCN and he helped us whenever we or I needed him. You can read more below about this major man behind the scenes not only at KING, but for NBC at Olympics after Olympics. Congratulations, Greg.
"I am no longer at Komo 4." Thanks. Longtime Weather Anchor Rebecca Stevenson confirms that she left the station just before Christmas. Her last Facebook posts are 12/17. She has the Seattle station Quintafecta, having worked at the old NWCN, KING, KIRO, KCPQ and KOMO. Looks like her decision. Wants a new chapter. She was doing mainly weekend evenings for KOMO. Perhaps Stella Sun will move there. She has been sharing weekend mornings with Theron Zahn.
Seconded. An incredibly energetic and creative newsroom and field presence. Congrats, Greg!
ReplyDeleteHe was a big part of KIRO, too, before joining KING. A great spot news photographer and scanner hound.
ReplyDeleteHa...didn't know he was a scanner man and forgot his time at 7. Thanks for that update.
