First time I noticed this, but maybe it has been done previously this football season by Fox 13. During halftime of the playoff game Saturday, anchor Bill Wixey introduced a video salute to a PNW high school band, showing a full musical dance performance. KING5 usually dominates the high school sports scene with its Prep Zone, but this was creative, especially during a heavily watched divisional playoff game. Lots of viewers and good showcasing.

They’ve been doing it all season. Seems a bit jarring to go from the highly produced fox halftime show to high school marching band. But I like the idea in spirit. During the week the fox 13 morning show will often do a segment where they interview the band leader and a couple of kids in preparation for them to be shown on Sunday at half time of the game.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the update on this. I am not a morning viewer of news unless I DVR, so it is helpful to see your post. We shall call it a victory for Fox 13.
