KOMO called on reporter Ryan Simms to step in for Lee Stoll Sunday, whose last weekend morning show was Saturday. On a holiday weekend of staffing, hard to know if this is a one-off or the harbinger of a permanent assignment. Regardless, Theron Zahn and Stella Sun still doing double duty both as co-news anchors and weather wizards.
ICYMI, it appears COX-APOLLO owned KIRO7 in Seattle has cut almost a dozen staff as cutbacks across the company reportedly continue. The only names confirmed so far are Sports DIrector Chris Francis, son of longtime NBC correspondent Fred Francis, and his producer, Chris Swanson, who formerly worked for me at the old Northwest Cable News. No word on how KIRO will cover sports in the market going forward, with the Mariners leading the AL West, the Seahawks and UW football coming soon, not to mention the Kraken's fourth hockey season. Gonna be interesting to watch. I already notice KOMO's weekend news, where the news anchor reads just a minute or two of sports. Nico Tamurian is the station's only sports reporter/anchor right now. Last thing a blogger wants is a reader giving suggestions, (I've blogged for nearly 20 years, so I know), but this orange and black does not really agree with me. I wonder if it could go back to black and white. I'll continue to read it because the content is great, but it is painful.
ReplyDeleteThank you, either way.
Thanks so much for the feedback. I was trying some templates from Google blogger and liked the font, but really it is a work in progress. I am color blind myself, so that may be the problem. And I love when reader make suggestions and offer their thoughts. I always try to answer, embrace or counter your comments, so keep it up.
DeleteMike, I moved to a green shade, in honor of The Emerald City. Tell me what you think.
