Seattle Cops Chief of Staff Collateral Damage?

Wondering what the future is for Jamie Tompkins, the former Fox 13 anchor whom Seattle Top Cop Adrian Diaz strangely made of Chief of Staff? Will she survive his demotion? Their rumored but later debunked romantic liaison didn't help with the suits he and the dept. now face, even with his recent coming out. You may remember it all started with her ride-along with the Diaz a while back. Later, he hired her to a big communications job with the PD, and then Chief of Staff, with ZERO law enforcement experience. Next move, Interim Chief Sue Rahr? Collateral damage?

  1. Sue, as I see it, is a proven leader. I think she is a good choice for heading the department, based on her service as King County Sheriff. I think she has served later roles in other capacities in law enforcement.

  2. I like Rahr as well, but Tompkins is the collateral damage I refer to related to the Diaz demotion. She may refrain from firing her, so that it doesn't look like she's deliberately tearing down his deisions. I just see Jamie in a very difficult position to defend and preserve.

  3. I heard the romance rumor from someone at FOX 13. So, is Diaz gay or is that a cover for all his current problems? If so, it is a unique gambit.
