Kevin Jackson is the new Digital Executive Producer at KOMO.   In his KOMO bio blurb, the station calls him:  ' digital visionary, sports media trend-setter.'    His background includes Head of Editorial Product for four months at PressBox in Sammamish, WA, Chief  Content Officer for two years at Cllct (a collectibles company) and Executive Director - Digital Editorial Content at FOX Sports L.A. for almost four years.  He also had quite a long run with ESPN dating back to 1996.  We await his vision! He is an alum of WWU.     

Found an interesting survey running from last Sunday, Oct. 25 through tomorrow, ranking the top 100 local stations with the most YouTube views.  Fox 13 is the highest in the PNW with KGW and KING following.  Might be surprised about KOMO and KIRO.    L.A. stations vie for the lead, but there are some surprise markets doing well in the top 10. KING 5 reporter/fill-in weather anchor Savannah Welch posts on social that she is the new weekend morning meteorologist there.  We'll have to see how this affects the role of Leah Pezzetti, who's been doing a.m. traffic lately for Sumpter and weather on wkds.  It's maybe positioning Leah on mornings to replace Marriott come 27?  

First Place Gold went to a contestant from Canada, Beverly Saraza! King5 producer Alex Gray has reached the finals of the World Karaoke Championship, one of 20 contestants left!   It's underway now in Vegas! 

KING 5 reporter Jim Nelson was at the anchor desk at 4 Thursday.   Good job!  Jim came to Seattle from Cleveland.  Grew up in Minnesota. 

Well, Fox 13 lead anchors David Rose and Hana Kim posted a video on FB cutely driving together to the new soon-to-open studio in Denny Triangle to block shots and see the latest.  So precious.   Just what we all wanted to see.  The pair talking about golf and candy corn et al.  Spare me.   BTW, David apparently arrived there much faster than he 'never' did as the station's lead police contact on the Bite of Seattle night shooting coverage, which he passed on to 'work the phones.'  Or did his boss tell him not to go?   The truth is out there.  Oh, gonna miss the trinket set!   https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1C2WC78TRf/

KXLY Executive News Director Melissa Luck announces on social media that she is back again as a board member at the Radio TV Digital News Association.   She is coming up on nine years in the job, starting there as a reporter in 2002. BTW - The trade organization is now run by a leadership consultant/trainer of sorts, Tara Puckey, an interesting choice for a position traditionally reserved for broadcast journalists who have executive experience.
