Seattle TV reporter gets an anchor shot

KING 5 reporter Jim Nelson was at the anchor desk at 4 Thursday.   Good job!  Jim came to Seattle from Cleveland.  Grew up in Minnesota.

Driving Mr. Davie

Well, Fox 13 lead anchors David Rose and Hana Kim posted a video on FB cutely driving together to the new soon-to-open studio in Denny Triangle to block shots and see the latest.  So precious.   Just what we all wanted to see.  The pair talking about golf and candy corn et al.  Spare me.   BTW, David apparently arrived there much faster than he 'never' did as the station's lead police contact on the Bite of Seattle night shooting coverage, which he passed on to 'work the phones.'  Or did his boss tell him not to go?   The truth is out there.  Oh, gonna miss the trinket set!   https://www.facebook.com/share/v/1C2WC78TRf/

Spokane TV news boss does a rewind

KXLY Executive News Director Melissa Luck announces on social media that she is back again as a board member at the Radio TV Digital News Association.   She is coming up on nine years in the job, starting there as a reporter in 2002. BTW - The trade organization is now run by a leadership consultant/trainer of sorts, Tara Puckey, an interesting choice for a position traditionally reserved for broadcast journalists who have executive experience. Puckey's resume reads this way:

It's a PNW Tegna Two-Step!

Cody Proctor announces in Instagram that she is leaving KREM in Spokane and to join sister station KGW in Portland as weekend morning anchor and reporter.  She's been with KREM for five years and prior to that worked at KEPR/KIMA in Tri-Citites.    A native of Grand Coulee, WA, her last day in Nov. 1.

Anchor exits Nexstar in PDX

Lead PM Anchor Elizabeth DInh has announced that she is leaving KOIN 6 in Portland to return to Texas after a six-year-stint at the Rose City station.   No word on a new position as yet.  Dinh worked at KPTV in Portland for four years before moving to KOIN.   Prior to that, she worked in Dallas TV and KOMO in Seattle.

What doesn't this guy do?

KING sports anchor Chris Egan did High School football play by play on Friday night and then hosts Kraken Hockey Network Saturday.   No sports events off!  Regular host Ian Furness on play by play for the telecast.   And Ian does a great job when he's the play by play guy for the telecasts.   Excellent.

Former Fox 13 News Producer finds life after TV

Mariah Lane got plaudits this week.  She was named the Washington School Public Relations Association’s Emerging Leader for 2026-27.  Nice to see someone get success in a different field.  I believe Ms. Lane produced a variety of news shows and segments at Fox 13.
