Seattle TV looking for a new anchor

I see KOMO has just posted on linkedin.com to hire a new 'dynamic' full-time anchor.   One would assume he or she would be taking Chris Nguyen's place.  He left after a very short run in Feb.  It would  be a key hire by the new ND, who joined Dec 31, and could be on the air for the May ratings sweeps, which begin April 24.  According to the post, the base salary range is $150,000 to $225,000.

Saturday morning weather on Seattle TV

Despite a major winter storm warning for mountain snow and travel alerts, KOMO's Hannah Knowles had to go it alone with only weather graphics because of no Theron Zahn.    KING dragged Senior Meteorologist Rich Marriott in to work with Ashley Ruiz absent.    At least Abby Acone was back on Fox13 after Nikki Torres filled in last week. Of course, KIRO has no weekend morning news OR weather.  Can't tell your players without buying a program.   Use your phones, folks.

Looks like a boondoggle trip for this former Seattle TV anchor?

Why is Amity Addrisi, ex KING 5 news anchor and New Day NW host, going to Austin's SXSW convention?  She works for Allen Brain Institute now, but I don't get the connection to this annual event.  Looks like a free vacation trip. She posted about her trip, but I don't get it.  Boondoggle.

Sinclair (KOMO) gets a 1 on 1 with Trump?

Who woulda thunk it?  Sinclair Reporter/Grifter Sheryl Atkinson does the interview with Trump which will air at the impressive time of Midnight Monday.  Anchor Preston Phillips added "Set your DVRs."

Former Seattle TV anchor and talent Union Rep passes away

I never had the good fortune to meet the versatile Mr. Sandifer while at NWCN, but he was in the KING building there during AFTRA negotiations with the station later in his career.  I know he was respected.    QZVX.com reports that he has passed away in Arizona.   More about John: https://www.johnsandifer.com/about

Sinclair TV and the moment of death

Copy below courtesy ftvlive.com (info behind paywall).  I can see the video which Sinclair posted but will not re-post here.   Just another example of what the evil empire does.   Sinclair owns KOMO Seattle. "WBFF (Baltimore) tried to up their social media clicks by posting what amounted as a snuff film. The Sinclair station post raw video of a kid killing another kid at a local High school. The station put a "warning" on the video but did not blur it or edit the graphic content."
