The Kraken are not going to the playoffs, stranded near the bottom of the west.    So how many are watching at this point, even on KONG?    Hockey has a hardcore audience, but no casual viewers.  The Kraken Hockey Network has had no discernible impact on viewing that I can find, because no rating info is published.    No hype, no nothing.    Meanwhile, with no playoffs and baseball looming, the dropoff for the final 25 Kraken games may be worse.    

Days after the Mariners made its TV team announcement, Root Sports still has Sims and Blowers pics and bios up, no Jay Buhner either.   The Mariners posted the pic below, indicating that Angie Mentink and Ryan Rowland Smith are both considered booth analysts and pre & post game talent.  It is very odd that Root mentions nothing to clarify roles of Brad Adam and Jen Mueller.  Their pics/bios are not updated.

Why would anyone pay to see the Mariners on cable?  Waste to pay Comcast a fee for mediocrity.    They need a broadcast deal with KSTW or Fox 13 Duopoly channel or KONG next year.  Not paying to stream.  Kraken model is great.    Your move Mariners.
