Seattle Sports Guy to Emcee a Fishy Event

King5's Chris Egan, who I personally know is a great fisherman, is going to emcee the Alaska Symphony of Seafood. Obviously selected because of his lofty PERCH in Seattle TV, Egan proclaimed he was doing the gig just for the HALIBUT.   We predict he will not FLOUNDER.    More below: https://x.com/ChrisEgan5/status/1854568398874943821

Slow Going on Hires at a Seattle TV?

It was late July when Kim Holcomb left Evening Magazine on KING 5 to join Amazon and then in mid- September Amity Addrisi left the station for the Allen Insitute in Seattle.   Word today that no permanent replacements have yet been hired, and I expect nothing will happen while the station is in the Nov. sweeps and holidays looming.   They are certainly saving some $$ while the search continues.   Maybe nothing until the New Year dawns???    We shall see.

Quick Take: Brady as a Broadcaster

Although I am not a big fan of Tom Brady as an NFL analyst on games, I think he is really strong in-studio every time I see him on The Herd with Colin Cowherd on FS1.  He knows his stuff, gives solid insight, offers non-rambling answers, speaks well with his eyes, gestures and facial expressions.   He might be ultimately on ta p to do studio for Fox on Sundays, possibly replacing a retiring Jimmy Johnson or Terry Bradshaw.

Quick Take: Amazon Election Coverage

Had to laugh the Amazon attempt at election nigth coverage.   All Brian Williams did was pass along what the other networks were reporting while sitting behind a lonely looking desk in front of a goofy backdrop with farmhouses, government buildings and a big highway.  Added some reporters looking for work like Shepherd Smith, Don Lemon and Candy Crowley.   Stick to Sports.

Mariners All Access Returns

There has been no definitive word from the Seattle Mariners about TV plans for next season, amid all of the Regional Sports Network concerns in MLB, but here's Angie Mentink of Root Sports cranking up the first of a regular Wednesday night 6 pm schedule in November (BTW, Jen Muelller ususally hosts).   The lead-in is something called Perfect Game TV, whatever that is.   Still wondering if the team will make some sort of deal to air some games on a broadcast partner or streamer.     Here's a video: https://x.com/ROOTSPORTS_NW/status/1854233719093240064

UPDATED: Where's Wolf?

*Wolf Blitzer back in action the morning after on CNN.    No trace of Wolf Blitzer in his usual key anchor slot during CNN's prime time election coverage.   Jake Tapper was in control.   Haven't seen any reason.  He may have anchored earlier in the day, but not in prime.
